PEEnang

woo! better late than never.
Anyway, this post is about the penang trip a few weeks ago. We visit penang anually to join the prayers in kek lok si temple. :)
Been there so many times until I can walk around the area blindfolded. (well, not exactly..)
The bird eye's view of part of the temple. (well, I took it on the second floor so it's not really a "bird eye's view" Unless ... )

You can tell that i'm the religous one while pik yen is not. HA-HA.
*smug

Later on, as always, we head up to the hill to visit the towering bronze kuan yin. The statue was only completed around January. So, it's the first time we visit the completed statue.

And it is breathtaking.

From the outside.

so beautiful! :)

Mom praying.

and us camwhoring. HAHA
HEY! we prayed before that, so it's okay. *comforting myself

Dad preparing his camera.
I tell you, it's very stressful to capture a picture in front of him because he's so darn critical. The picture is either too bright, too dark, not in proportion, etc etc.
When i complained that i'm just an amature, he says he's just giving "constructive critism"

LOL.

Mom and Dad. It took me two tries before he's finally satisfied with it. HAHA

Monkey and (stoned) monkey
The next day, we joined the prayers which was actually the reason why we came here.

The massive prayer hall
We prayed from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. that day. With breaks in between lah of course, or not my legs will break. My sister and I were rushing to get the prayer books with pinyin (er, english subtitles) because we cant read chinese. Well, she can but i can't. LOL
sorry ar, aunty.

Anyway, the prayers are actually pretty good. :) Aside from the fact that dad kept singing out of tune and spitting his saliva all over.
haha, joking! still love you dad :)
We are family! >
HAHA. Let me tell you a funny story. If you dont laugh, i'll give you rm 1. wth
A few years back, I ate a bowl of chicken kuey teow when we stopped by in Seremban which is on the way to Penang.
Throughout the whole journey after that, my stomach feels uneasy and tumbling up and down like a hurricane wth. Halfway throughout the prayers, I felt a really strong urge to puke but i tried to quell it by sucking on some Hacks.
Bad idea.
Halfway through the prayer, I suddenly vomited. In front of all the devotees. During a holy prayer. In front of the 20 horrified monks.
That was the last time I ever ate chicken kuey teow.
THat time I remembered wishing for the earth to swallow me up.
But it spit me out instead to face public humiliation. HAHA

BUT! thank god i didnt puke in that major hall but on the ground outside instead in front of the ancesteral hall. HAHA
so funny right! EH ! faster laugh, i'm feeling embarassed already. HAHA
so after the long day, we headed home at last. :)
See you next year!
WHY SO SERIOUS?
