All we need is a speck of light. :)

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

My family have a unique tradition. My family and I would all stay up untill 12.00 a.m. to countdown the chinese new year. My mom would open up all the windows and doors to welcome in the new year's luck. When the clock strikes midnight, we would all scream HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR out loud and jump around screaming and laughing. Dad would switch on the "choi san dou" song to make it all merrier. :)

but this year, we added something new. which is.. the wishing lantern!!

Mum bought two in the morning market and the lanterns were selling like hot cakes.

Basically, we all have to write down all our wishes on the lantern and light it up.

Mum writing.
Dad scribbling cause we're running out of time. HAHA

haha, i set the camera on timer and placed it on the sofa. that's why we were crouching down like tigers. HAHA CROUCHING TIGERS!

Gonna set it off!

mummy and daddy.

Mom lighting up the lantern.

The moment finally came. We all released it with a surge of hope that it would fly away and high up in the diamond encrusted sky. We were all pretty excited and laughed and shouted out. The lantern took off and it..

FLEW DOWN.

HAHAHA!!!

We looked at each other gobsmacked. Then pure panic hits in. What if the whole latern catches on fire and starts to burn the trees nearby? Not a really good way to start off chinese new year, i can assure you that.

Fueled by adrenaline, pik yen and daddy ran down to stop the fire. Meanwhile, i was filling up a water bottle in case we need to put out the fire. HAHAHA!! then, i quicky ran down, expecting the worst throughout the entire time.

Instead, it flew. It actually flew. We were all mesemrized and awed. The lantern flew higher and higher in the sky. and that red lantern represent our high hopes for all the good things the year may bring to us.

see that tiny speck of light? :)
YEY! :D

i wanna wish everyone HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR.

May this year bring you good health, joy, peace, wealth and luck! :)
