or TUNG CHIH ( well, i don't know how to spell it. :X)
anyway
Woke up at 7.30 a.m. to follow mom to the market. A big surprise to my mom since i'm not an early riser. i usually wake up at 1.00 p.m. daily. hoho
So, why?
I just wanna be a good kid and help my mom to carry the groceries.
ceh, joking lah. haha.
Well, it's just because. ;)
It's been ages since i've been to the market.
The sound of grocers yelling, the dirty wet road, the sound of chickens squaking, the fresh vegetables and fruits with worms and the aromatic smell of yau cha kuey really does bring back good memories. and the bad . xD
Fresh oranges anyone?
Ehhhh.. i don't know what vege is this?
Cute plant! ^^
Egg plants, brinjal, purple ahem .. JOKING! xD
Eh, don't know what's this either. but tastes good! =D
After the trip, we came back to make some tong yuens.
Basically, it's the only food i know how to make that doesnt just require hot water and seasoning.
It's really simple! You just have to chai the dough really well .. easy as ABC?
Tepung pulut!
Chai-ing the flour.
And you get the dough!
It's my favourite part now. The rolling! ;D
All my tong yuens have different sizes! :(
My signature distorted Snow Man! I make this every year. ;D
Boil it in sugar syrup with pandan leaves for an aromatic flavour.
Tong yuens!
After that, we went shopping in 1U. again. I really do have shopaholic parents.
Shopped for some winter outfits. =)
bought termal pants.
After that, we headed to the restaurant for a family dinner. Met up with my cousin, Su Min. Long time no see. She's the only cousin left. The others are in Singapore and Dublin already. So quiet lah the dinner. sigh.
The dinner is very salty. Try to fail our kidneys issit?
But it's the family that matters. ;D
Aunt and favourite Uncle Charles in the background
Thanks cuzzie! ;) next time, i want the REAL one. XD
Trying to strangle me with the pink hankie. she loves to toture. BEWARE! hehe xD
